Avatar Tops The List Of Most-Pirated Movies On BitTorrent

Because James Cameron will not settle for anything less than world domination, it appears that noted Fern Gully and Pocahontas pastiche Avatar has amassed the most BitTorrent downloads of all time, suckers.

Avatar clinched the number one spot with an estimated twenty-one million downloads. It was followed by The Dark Knight, the only other movie on the list to break $1 billion in worldwide gross. Here's the entire list:

1. Avatar, 21 million
2. The Dark Knight, 19 million
3. Transformers, 19 million
4. Inception, 18 million
5. The Hangover, 17 million
6. Star Trek, 16 million
7. Kick-Ass, 15 million
8. The Departed, 14 million
9. The Incredible Hulk, 14 million
10. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, 14 million

This tells us a few things about BitTorrent users. One: They love sci-fi. Two: They love comic books. Three: They love action. Four: Much like Netflix users, they still haven't gotten over their Titanic-era Leonardo DiCaprio crushes. Five: Only stolen tigers and Ken Jeong's nude body make them laugh.

Now, it should be noted that the data only goes back to early 2006. Still, that's a lot of people watching Na'vis on a tiny laptop.
